January 21-23,  2002 Well then, Palandöken is the safest ski center in Turkey. Final approvement of GAZEX System in Palandöken Ski Resort Center made by our group. During this stage, a snow profile made on the North slope of Big Dragon (Büyük Ejder) hill which is near the north ski running to control the stability of snow cover. There was 125 cm depth of snow.
January 15, 2002 A cooperation started with General Directorate of State Highway (TCK) on avalanches which effect the highways and state roads. At the beginning of the those studies present records in TCK will evaluate, then other dangerous areas will determine and finally, solution projects will produce for risky areas.
General Director of AFET (GDDA) Mr. Mustafa TAYMAZ and one expert form our group Mr. Tarhan ERENBİLGE joined a TV program called "Gide Gide GAP" in channel TRT-GAP. And, Mr. ERENBİLGE made important explanations about snow and avalanches in Turkey.
January 13, 2002 Calling to prayer with loudspeakers forbade temporarily for not causing an avalanche (?) in Trabzon-Çaykara-Uzungöl touristic place.
January 8, 2002 There were heavy snowfall last two weeks. For this reason, provinces under risk were warned against avalanche danger.
January 7, 2002 Hakkari-Yüksekova highway closed because of avalanche. Flow of Zap river was stopped for 2 hours.
Üzümlü location on Hakkari-Çukurca closed by an avalanche. There were no human and property loss.
January 6, 2002 Malatya-Sivas and Malatya-Adıyaman higways were closed because of avalanches.
January 5, 2002 Both two sides of a tunnel on Püren pass which is 20 km. far from Göksun district on Kahramanmaraş-Kayseri highway was closed by avalanche. Two private car were stucked in the tunnel. People was reached to Gerdarme by celular phone. Then they were rescued after an hour.
In Kızıldağ pass on Sivas-Erzincan highway an avalanche was falled down 100 m away to front of a bus. Road was closed. There were no human and property loss.
In Eğribel location of Giresun-Dereli-Tamdere village, an avalanche was occured. Only one house collapsed and 20 animals was done away with avalanche. No human loss.
January 3, 2002 An avalanche was falled on a student bus on Venk Bridge which is on the 25th km of Tunceli-Ovacık highway. 27 students and 2 drivers were rescued after 17 hours. There were no human loss and no injured.
December 24,  2001 An avalanche was falled on midday on Hakkari-Van highway. After 3 hours, little part of road (only one line) could be opened. Height of the avalanche debris on the road was approx. 6 m. There were no died and injured people.
December 17, 2001 An avalanche was occured on Ardahan-Posof highway. There were no human and property loss. Road was opened after a short time.
November 2001- Bozdağ Ski Resort Center in İzmir-Ödemiş district is closed because of avalanche risk. There were some destructive avalanches in previous winter season and some ski lifts and buildings were destroyed by avalanches.
October 27, 2001 Regular process: Provinces under risk were warned for avalanche danger for 2001-2002 winter period.
